At 9 and 10 the pitch gets bigger and the game gets smarter. Passing, moving into space and understanding a position become the work of each session.

The FA's 7v7 format for this age gives each child more space and more decisions. Our coaches use it to teach passing patterns, support play and when to dribble or release the ball.
Sessions include pressing games, where children learn to apply pressure and to resist it, as well as finishing drills in front of goal.
Children at this age also get used to tournaments and match days, playing alongside the academy teams in junior cups.
